ACLU Bill of Rights Dinner.......& YOU (Any supporter) are invited!! *Giggles* x)~

Join the ACLU of Pennsylvania for our annual Bill of Rights Dinner!

Dear ACLU Supporter,
Wednesday, December 15
American Philosophical Society’s Benjamin Franklin Hall
Chestnut Street (between 3rd and 4th Streets)

Buy your tickets now! The deadline for purchasing tickets is next Tuesday, December 7.
This year at the Bill of Rights Dinner we are honoring Edward M. Posner (pictured), a partner at Drinker Biddle and Reath LLP and a stalwart supporter of civil liberties.

In addition, the evening’s program will include a discussion of the state secrets doctrine with attorneys Wilson Brown III from Drinker Biddle and Reath LLP and Ben Wizner from the ACLU’s National Security Project. Wilson Brown’s efforts to vindicate three families victimized by the government’s improper claim of state secrets privilege in United States v. Reynolds are the subject of Pulitzer Prize-winner Barry Siegel’s 2008 book Claim of Privilege.

Ben Wizner has litigated several post-9/11 civil liberties cases in which the government has invoked the state secrets privilege, including Mohamed v. Jeppesen Dataplan, Inc., a suit against a private aviation services company for facilitating the CIA's rendition to torture of five Muslim men.

I hope that you will join us for this celebration!
